US recognize Diwali, why Keralaites not recognizing?

The US has passed a resolution recognizing Diwali officially in theUS. It got an overpowering 358 votes for resolution and there is not even a single vote against the resolution. This is really proud moment for India and the Indians who live in the US. An official said that this festival is celebrated by Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists and Jains in the US.
But I am sure that if the US representatives who voted for the resolution come to know that an Indian state, Kerala, does not celebrate Diwali they will be shocked. (People from other states who stay in kerala will celebrate diwali)

I really wonder why keralaite Hindus or Sikhs or Buddhists or Jains are not celebrating Diwali When all over the world diwali is celebrated by these religious people.

How LTTE forgot Ahimsa?

How LTTE forgot to take ahimsa or non-violence route to get freedom from Sri Lanka instead of violence. It is known to everyone all over the world that no one can succeed through violence for a good cause.
If LTTE’s real intention is to fight for Tamilian rights and to get separate Tamil Nation then they should consider ahimsa to achieve their cause.

How they forgot that Mahatma Gandhi led India to freedom only through Non-Violence.
World leaders like Nelson Mandela, Martin Luther King, followed Gandhi and succeeded in achieving their cause through non-violence. I still wonder why they are not learning lessons from these great leaders.

Violence begets Violence. Only Non-Violence can bring peace. LTTE’s should realize that they cannot achieve their objective of separate Tamil Nation though violence. Non-Violence is the ultimate weapon to fight for rights. If LTTE embrace non-violence, surely Tamil Nation will be created out of Sri Lanka peacefully.

Left got it right on N-deal?

Finally it seems that Left got it right. Every indication now suggests that they are going to win the war on N-deal. By threatening UPA Govt to withdraw support, it stopped cong from going further in the N-deal. Both Manmohan Singh and Sonia now saying that there is a life beyond N-deal for Govt.

Now it is certain there is no chance of snap polls in 2008 as a result of N-deal.
But is there a chance of going ahead with N-deal if left agrees on October 22nd meeting?. But it seems to be almost improbable.

Now the cong realized what is important to run the coalition Govt is Synergy and not Nuclear energy.

Why minority appeasement?

Govt is always appeasing the minorities in any country…..why?

Just to prove them since they are minority they will not be neglected and they have the every right to enjoy as majorities. Moreover these minorities are considered to economically underdeveloped.
In any country when the minorities feel that they unfairly or partially treated by the Govt and they don’t have the rights as majorities they will start protesting for their rights. Even they might go the extent of taking terrorism or extremism as their tool to win their rights. This is why Govt in any country gives certain preference to minorities. Moreover vote bank politics also plays major role in these appeasements.

While doing this Govt should also keep in mind that the minorities’ development should not be at the cost of majorities’ development. When Govt fails to address this issue impartially it will create the anger among majorities and they will start feel as divided by the rulers or deprived of their rights by the Govt, even it might lead to social unrest.

Where Cong went wrong in 123 agreement??

It is not clear till now whether the 123 agreement is whether good or bad for India.
Cong says it is good. Left Parties says it is not good. BJP says it is good only with modification and no in current form. The whole political fraternity in India divided in this 123 issue.

So where cong went wrong??

Is cong went wrong by strengthening relationship with US????
NO
Not only cong even BJP is interested in having good relationship with US.
Of course there is nothing wrong in having good relationship with US but what Left fears that India should not become the part of US’s global military partner.

No doubt India already started to say ‘yes’ to international issues where India should have said “No” or kept mum. For. Eg India has voted against Iran on nuclear issue twice. This decision is not taken independently rather influenced by US. India should have not aligned with US in voting against Iran. Because it is known to everyone in the world that India is non-align country. Moreover, earlier Iran has agreed to supply gas to India. Due to our alliance with US it might be affected. But hope indo-pak-iran pipeline project will not get affected.
Cong is not wrong in strengthening the relationship with US but it should not say yes to whatever US says.

123 agreement bad for India??

It is really a tricky question whether 123 agreement is good or bad for India.
And also it is not wise to suspect cong for signing up such agreement with US.
Undoubtedly cong has played major role in ousting British from India and also it played a pivotal role in strengthening Indian economy.

1n 1990’s when the Indian economy was liberalized there were strong opposition to cong for its liberal policies from BJP as well as Left. But today most of the Indians are benefiting because of that liberalization, globalization and privatization policies.
Hope 123 agreement is also good for India. But why then Left and BJP oppose????

Left and BJP is not opposing 123 agreement in-particular rather it opposes the Hyde Act.
In 123 agreeemntt there is a clause which says ‘country laws’ applicable apart from the 123 agreement on n-deal. India has no such law but it clearly shows the upper hand of US
through Hyde Act.

So the n-deal panel set up within the UPA will study the 123 agreement, Hyde Act influence on 123 agreement and sovereignty of India.
So… where is the problem????
Apart form “Hyde Act” “Communication” is the problem. Cong failed to communicate the benefits this agreement to its allies and opposition parties.

What is to be done by cong now???

Cong should study the impact of 123 agreement, Hyde Act on Indian sovereignty with “open” mindedness. It should not involve itself to go through the deal rather it should study the real impact of agreement as raised by Left.
Left also should study the impact with open mindedness keeping in mind the energy security of India.
Hope the final outcome will come in favor of INDIA. India need energy whether it is nuclear or thermal but not at the cost of its sovereignty.

Is our constitution to be redrafted?

The congress has now agreed that the mechanism they have set up is not in the interest of nation but only in the interest of safeguarding this UPA Govt for the remaining 18 months. Are they right in doing so? Is it not important to see which is good for nation as a whole rather than the UPA Govt alone?

Everyone in the country is concerned about 123 agreement &Hyde Act. But the govt says parliament has no right to interfere in the Govt’s international treaties. Is it not danger for India?
A Govt is elected only for 5 years. so whatever important decision which will affect the India as a whole must be debated in the parliament and it should go ahead with such treaties only if all concerned parties agree to that.

If the present constitution has not given such power to parliament then the power should be given to parliament.

So I feel there is a need to redraft the constitution. Parliament should be empowered to ratify any international treaty which is of national importance. That means without the parliament approval no international treaty like 123 agreement cannot be proceeded. Again 60% or 70% support should not be enough to go ahead with important international agreements. A overwhelming support of 90% or more must be ensured. It is the duty of the govt to get the support of opposition parties by explaining the benefits agreements to opposition parties and of course explaining to the public also indeed important. As far as 123 agreement is concerned cong failed get the support of (1) its supporter CPM (2) Opposition Parties (3) Public.

Joint Parliament Committee (JPC) should study the impact of such agreements and not just the parties involved in running Govt alone.

So there is a strong need for redrafting constitution and empowering parliament to ratify on important international agreements.

Is the committee for National Interest or UPA/Cong Interest?????

Govt going to set up a committee to analyze the repercussion of Hyde act on 123 agreements and 123 agreements impact on India. It is expected that this committee will have members from only cong and its allies like CPM, RJD, and DMK etc. This is almost finalished.
Right now there is no development that the committee will accommodate members from opposition party eg. BJP or NDA or UNPA.

It creates a doubt on others whether this committee is on national interest or UPA govt or Cong govt interest.

It is known to everyone that CPM and BJP opposed the 123 agreement. CPM went to the extreme of de-stabilize (Threatening) the Govt that it will withdraw its support for UPA Govt.

In this juncture govt has decided to set up a committee. It is really a good news.
But the question is this committee do not have or will not have members from opposition party. If the committee does not have opposition party as its members we can say this committee is not set up on national interest but to pacify the CPM i.e to win the support of CPM in order to have UPA govt alive at the center. Will govt act in national interest??

Will India die in the hand of dynastic politicians????????

I don’t think India will remain as the nation of peace.

It is doubtful. Today’s dynastic politicians are sowing the seed for rebel/revolution in India. No doubt one day Indians will throw all these dynastic politicians as they thrown British. But before that Indians are going to suffer a lot. Will god save India from these politicians???????????????????????

Now Japanese prime minister has come to India. Our honourable prime minsister Dr.Manmohan Singh, invited the Japan PM and his wife. Do u know who are all the other special guests?????????

Rahul Gandhi, Kanimozhi and Supriya. Wonder who they are Rahul is son of Sonia Gandhi, kanimozhi is daughter of DMK chief M Karunanidhi and Supriya is the daughter of NCP Chief Sharad Pawar.(no doubt they are going to be the next supremo in their respective party(may be except kanimozhi...because Stalin will take care of state only center will be allotted to her)

Do u think still India is ruled democratically???? Every Indians getting the same treatment from govt???? Hey Indians awake….take care of yourself and your next generation.

Yesterday British......tomorrow US??????????????

Yesterday British colonized us and we got freedom after losing lakhs of our fellow men and women. We have lived independently just for 60 years. No doubt congress played a major role in our freedom struggle. But today, it seems the ruling congress minority Govt is trying to make India as the colony of America.
Have we got freedom from British to become a slave of Americans?

You can have economic alliance with America no doubt it will benefit both the country.
But a military/defense alliance is not good for both the country. Especially for India which always want to be nation of peace and wants to spread peace all over the world.

If you see some of the countries which US considers their enemies now, they were once great friend of US.

India should take a stance that; it will have to be neither friend nor enemy towards US.
India should never think of establishing strategic partnership with US (as long as it interferes in other country affairs) as it will put Indian in great danger. US might use India to dominate Asia. Not to mention US will also start to dominate Indian politics and our whole nation.

First women president of india, welcome????

Well, within few hours presidential election will be over. No doubt Mrs. Prathipa patil is going to emerge as winner and first women president of India. No doubt....it shows the empowerment of women in india. By appointing or selceting women in important post we are ahead of western world.

Here one question arise in my mind does Ms. Patil deserve to become president of India???

Politicians thinks that she does.

I do think that she has required quailties to becom president. Mind it she became an MLA at the age of 28, it is not easy for a women to become at that age. Moreover she has served in 6 govts apart from governor of Maharashtra. Well she deserves.....

But what about the allegations against her & her family members???????

Mrs.Patil's husband is to be connected with a murder...
Ms.Patil's brother is also suspected to be connected with a murder....
and there is allegation on Ms. Patil regarding the bank she founded and its bankrupt......

Is it right to go ahead with electing her as president without making those allegations are wrong???

Once she become president no one can do anything because a president cannot be prosecuted in india....

So what should be done??????????????????

At this juncture i would suggest that Mr.kalam's tenure should be extended until the allegations are proved wrong...

or cancel the ongoing presidential elcetions.....conduct new presidential election with new candidate...

Certainly those things will not happen because our politicians are like that........

So lets welcome our frist women president Mrs.Pratiba Patil.

cheers.........claps..................

Why Cong is Against Dr.Kalam?

NDA and newly formed UNPA are ready to support Kalam, but cong is not ready why?

Cong against kalam because he helped Indian govt on nuclear test?

or

just because he was BJP candidate on the last presidential election?

or

Just because he is a most famous president looking for second term?(except Dr.Rajendra Prasad)

or

Just because he is gaining popularity among Public, Students, Scholars and across political parties and nations?

or

Just because his popularity continue to increase he might claim PM post?

or

Just because Kalam was not a puppet for Cong?

or it need puppet president now?

or cong doing this keeping in mind the 2009 elections????????????

Whatever may be the reason if cong denies second term for Dr.Kalam, it has to ready to vacate its office on the jusdgement day of 2009 elections.Well people know how to punish cong.

Undemocratic Presidential Election in India?????? Any chance for kalam?///

India is the largest democratic country in the world.
It is true for the political parties in India and not for the people living in India.
Indian population does not have the power to elect its president. Then what is the democracy?
Even the politicians in the country don’t heed whom people want to have as their president. Then where is the democracy?

If you ask any people in India, whom they would vote to become the next president of India, everyone will say Abdul Kalam. They would give second term for Dr.Abdul Kalam. But unfortunately people don’t have such voting rights to elect their president in India.
People in India think that their MPs and MLAs elected by them would choose a good president. But political parties not in a mood to select good president for India but they want good president for their party, who can call them to form the Govt on the judgment day of 2009 elections. There is 90% chance that it would be hung assembly/coalition government in 2009, in these situation having their puppet/president would help them to form Govt to some extent with ease.
It is very unfortunate for India that political parties are against Dr.Abdul Kalam for this reason.

At least now 3rd front has proposed Dr. Kalam for his second term. But it seems to go nowhere as Dr.Kalam has already said he would be interested for second term only if all political parties unanimously elect him. Congress opposes to the core Dr.Kalam candidature as they want their own candidate as their president.
So they have announced Ms. Prathipa Patel as their candidate.

Even though NDA has already announced that they would back Vice President Shekawath for president post. The announcement by third front for second term for second term put Shekawath to reconsider his candidature for president.

How Kalam Can Become President Again?
If Kalam has to become president once again then all parties must unanimously elect him. But it is improbable. As congress and left would not support.
Kalam has the chance of becoming president again if NDA supports Kalam along with Third Front. If we go arithmetically even the support of NDA and Third front would not be enough.
Dr.Kalam can become president of again only (I) if he agrees to contest election. I don’t think he would agree. (II)even if he agrees Third Front +NDA+DMK+Shiv Sena (it might support Prathiba Patil as she is a Maharashtrian) + Cross voting, should support his candidature.
If the above thing does not happen it is unfortunate for India.

The fortunate thing is at the cost of killing all the aspirations of Indians a Women will become the president of India. A Women becoming president of India is really a good thing, but should it be for a political reason? Should it be at the cost of Dr.Kalam?

I don’t think most of the politicians will think in this way.

If at all Dr. Kalam has to get second term All parties should accept his unanimously if this thing will not happen people should make them to accept.
Do you think people have the power to threaten political parties to vote for Kalam.YES.

IF ALL THE INDIANS SAY THAT “WHOEVER VOTES FOR KALAM TODAY WOULD GET OUR VOTE IN 2009 ELECTIONS”.

Well both are seems to improbable let’s see whether our politicians has any intention of doing good for people at least by electing President Kalam once again.

If not let’s welcome our first Women President, first Citizen of India “Prathiba Patel”.
And hope (only hope) she will not be a rubber stamp president.
